The Nouveau Penser will guide you with the funeral ceremony and will support you through this difficult time.
The officiant will respectfully help you to understand more clearly what death is, so you can be at peace with what has taken place in your life and also the experience of the life of your beloved.
To be able to pay tribute to a loved one is very important for everyone concerned.
You are a non religious organization, what does that mean?
What are the required documents?
No legal document is required.
How many meetings are required with the officiant?
There is no required meeting.
Where can a funeral ceremony be held?
The funeral ceremony is usually held at the funeral parlor and may also happen at the place of your choice, a vineyard, reception hall or private residence.
How will the officiant be dressed?
The officiant usually wears a stole over his or her business attire. If you wish, he or she can wear an alb and a stole to better match your ritual style.
May we modify wording and text of the ceremony?
Our texts can be modified in accordance to your preferences with the approval of your officiant.
Can our ceremony be performed in both languages simultaneously?
The ceremony can be performed, in English, in French, or in both languages simultaneously. You may inquire about the possibility of a ceremony to be performed in other languages.
Are friends and family allowed to participate in the ceremony?
We encourage your loved one’s to participate in the ceremony with a reading, music performance or any suggestions should you have.
How long the ceremony will last?
The ceremony will last about 25 to 30 minutes.
When can we do our ceremony?
We can officiate your ceremony at any given time on a weekday, weekend or evening.
What happens if our celebrant is ill or totally incapacitated the day of the ceremony?
Le Nouveau Penser regroups several officiants. If, for some major reason, your celebrant is unable to perform your ceremony, Le Nouveau Penser is authorized to replace him with another celebrant who will respect the date of your ceremony.
How do we make a reservation?
An official reservation can be made by phone or email.
We will need those informations:
- Name of the deceased person
- Date and time of ceremony
- Name and full address of ceremony site
- Your name
- Two phone numbers, ideally cellular
- Preference for your celebrant: male, female or indifferent
If you are contacting us by email, please leave us the phone number to reach you and the best time for us to do so.
We will recommend a celebrant who will contact you within 24 hours.

What is the price of the ceremony?
The price for our services varies depending on the distance the celebrant has to travel to get to your ceremony location.
Our services offered are turnkey, to include first phone communication, opening of the file, preparation of the ceremony and travel charges. Taxes are included, no other fees will be added to the price.
What are the payment terms?
The payment is made directly to your celebrant according to the terms he will specify.
